CARVE IT OUT (Physics Game)

Made in Unity 4 for my Rapid Games module at Staffordshire University
About the game

This game was created for my university module 'Rapid Games Development'. This game was for the Physics Block game assignment. We had to create a game that used physics and simple shapes such as a cube.

I came up with the idea for this when I first thought about creating Jenga. I started to create the Jenga section of the game and thought that it just wasnt enough gameplay or excitement, I didn't want to just remake something someone else had made so I added on the ability for the player to traverse the level itself.

A lot of people who play tested the game were suprised with this addition but said they enjoyed it very much as it put a twist on a classic.

The Basics

You have to carve out a path for you to be able to navigate to the coloured pills and the exit.

The first stage of the game you can view the blocks from each angle and use force to push them out, Jenga-style. Once you are happy that you have created a path you can traverse, remember you can jump one block high only, then you can right click on a block and you will spawn on it. Now you traverse through the level to the exit collecting keys when needed.

You can restart by pressing R at anytime.

The block you have selected or are currently moused over is highlighted in blue and the direction you are looking at the blocks from is displayed in the top right.

The colour(s) of the block that ends the level depends on how many coloured keys there are to collect. You can only finish when you have got them all.

You can also hold Tab to show where the keys and end is located under the blocks to make carving a path to the exit easier and more precise.
