The Basics

The board game is very simple. You can play as two character, Pudge or Natures Prophet. The game randoms which side you are on Dire or Radiant and it randoms your character too. 

 

Pudge has more health than Natures Prophet but Natures Prophet has much more mobility and can teleport around the map, making pushing the lanes easier.

 

Creeps spawn near your base and defend your lane while pushing to destroy the other teams lane and creeps. Creeps move one space every one turn. When a creep lands on the same square as another creep, they random who wins and therefore continues. Creeps can do damage to players and towers.

 

The winner is the first player who destroys their opponents ancient, centered in the middle of their base.

 

Players

Each player has two unique actions they can take during their action step. They can also skip their action instead incase their skills are on cooldown or they wish not to use an action.

 

Turns

The turns go as follows:

Movement, Action, Combat, Gold.

You move on the movement turn, take your action on the action turn, damage is worked out between you, enemies and creeps on the combat turn and gold will be awarded to you depending on where you finish your turn on the gold turn.

Game 3 for Rapid Games


This game was my third game for my Rapid Games module at university. Our task was simply to create a board game / make a board game that exists using Unity. I chose to turn Dota 2 into a board game as I really enjoy the game. All of the models, towers / skill images and sounds used in this game that aren't mine I will list at the bottom of the page but as this game was educational and not being sold, my lecturer gave me the go ahead to use them.
